Egern guide (iPhone / iPad / Mac)
Egern is a newer rule-based proxy app for iPhone, iPad and Apple-silicon Macs, with settings synced over iCloud. Your subscription delivers a profile in Egern’s own format, ready for one-tap import.
1. Install Egern
- Log in to the client area, find your plan under “My services” and click Get started.
- Choose iOS (or macOS on a Mac), pick Egern and tap the App Store button to open the listing.
- Egern is free to download; some advanced features need the in-app Pro purchase. It isn’t available in the mainland-China App Store, so download it with an Apple ID from another region — see Get a non-mainland-China Apple ID. Switch accounts in the App Store only; leave the iCloud account in Settings unchanged.
2. Import your profile
- On the device with Egern installed (Safari on iPhone), open “Get started”, choose Egern and tap Import to Egern.
- Open Egern when asked, confirm adding the profile and make it the active one.
Nothing happens? Tap Copy subscription link, then add a profile from URL in Egern’s profile list, paste the link and save.
Your subscription link works like a password — don’t share it, post it in group chats or include it in screenshots. If it leaks, go to your service page, choose “Manage → Reset subscription link”, then import the new link again.
3. Choose a node and connect
- Pick a node in Egern’s proxy group (a nearby region is usually fastest).
- Turn on Egern’s start switch.
- The first time, the system asks to add a VPN configuration — tap Allow and enter your passcode (your login password on a Mac). A VPN badge appears in the iPhone status bar once connected.
4. Update your subscription
The profile updates itself periodically. To pick up changes right away (after renewing or when nodes change), update the profile manually in Egern; if that fails, delete it and import again.
