Surge guide (iPhone / iPad)
Surge is a powerful network toolbox and proxy app. Your subscription returns a Surge managed profile: install it from a URL and it keeps itself up to date. This guide covers iPhone / iPad; Surge for Mac is sold separately on the Surge website and imports the same way.
1. Install Surge
- Log in to the client area, find your plan under “My services” and click Get started.
- Choose iOS, pick Surge and tap the App Store button to open the listing.
- Surge is free to download but needs an in-app purchase before you can use it. It isn’t available in the mainland-China App Store, so download it with an Apple ID from another region — see Get a non-mainland-China Apple ID. Switch accounts in the App Store only; leave the iCloud account in Settings unchanged.
2. Install the profile from URL
- On “Get started”, choose Surge and tap Copy subscription link.
- Open Surge, go to the profile list and choose to download a profile from URL (the exact wording varies by version).
- Paste the link and confirm. Once it downloads, select it as the active profile.
Your subscription link works like a password — don’t share it, post it in group chats or include it in screenshots. If it leaks, go to your service page, choose “Manage → Reset subscription link”, then import the new link again.
3. Choose a node and connect
- On the Surge home screen, pick a node in the proxy policy group (a nearby region is usually fastest).
- Turn on the start switch on the home screen.
- The first time, the system asks to add a VPN configuration — tap Allow and enter your passcode (your login password on a Mac). A VPN badge appears in the iPhone status bar once connected.
4. Update your subscription
The managed profile updates itself on the interval we set, but only while the Surge app is running — open it now and then. To update right away, refresh the managed profile from the profile list.
We maintain the managed profile for you, so don’t edit it directly — your changes are overwritten on the next update.
